August 3rd

Im back…hopefully for good.  The break was nice.

I will probably not blog everyday and there maybe some weeks that I do not post anything,

but at least I am back.

It was a year ago on August 3rd that we found out that we had some big changes in our near future.

I can remember being so excited and nervous.  This was such a surprise…a great surprise.

Now a year later…

Welcome to my new blog.  I have imported all of my past posts, but thought that this would be good to start over.  I am stepping away from blogging for a little so that I can come back refreshed.

Ellison needs my attention right now so blogging is taking a back burner.

A letter to my husband on our 2 year anniversary…

It has been 2 years since I walked down the aisle to you and made you a promise that I will never break.  These past 2 years have been the best of my life.  I could not imagine my life any other way or with any other person.  I loved you when I said I do and thought that I could not love you anymore than I did then, but that’s not the case.  My love for you grows with each passing day…and to see you sing and talk to our little boy makes my heart literally busts at the seams.  I would say that little boy is our biggest accomplishment.
I love you, Andre!  Lets make this next year the best one yet.

Friday Letters

Andre, You are such a great husband and daddy.  I am so glad that you get to stay at home with Ellison this month.  You are doing such a great job!  Tillman and Tucker, You two need to learn that bumping the swing while your brother is sleeping in it is not a good thing to do.  Ellison, It has been a whole week that I have been back at work and not home with you all day.  It is getting a little easier but I still would rather be with you all day.  Thank you for the longer periods of sleep you have been doing at night too…your mama really appreciates it! Mama, I am so glad that you are coming to stay with us this weekend.  The humidity, You can leave anytime!  My hair will appreciate it.   Our AC, Really 82 degrees inside our house is unacceptable!  Kashi cereal, Thank you for being a great breakfast choice this week…we might have to extend our relationship another week. Andre(you get two letters), I can’t wait to go on a date with you this weekend to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary.  I love you so much!

Another month has passed and this one flew by.  You are pretty much out of the newborn stage and have graduated to just being a baby.  Your smile and laugh can light up a room.  We just love doing things to make you smile and laugh.  My sneezing noise is still one of your favorites.  I went back to work this month and you are staying home with daddy.  The first few days you cried a lot but now you have gotten use to not having mama around all day.  I think that daddy day care will get you use to real day care and me too.  I am amazed how much my love for you grows with each passing day.  I am still can’t believe that you are ours…it seems too good to be true.
Your mama and daddy love you more than anything and don’t ever forget that!

friday fancies…

Welcome to my very first Friday Fancies with Alison from long distance loving.  We celebrated our first forth of July as a family of three…Ellison was not a fan of all the fireworks in the neighborhood. Our celebrations were pretty low key since little bit has a rather early bedtime and Thursday was my first day back at work.  I was a little sad on the forth just because I knew that it was my last full day home with my little boy.
With all that being said, if I was to attend a barbeque I would have liked to wear these lovely pieces…

+ This Perfect shirt in anchors and horseshoes  from J Crew is lightweight and who doesn’t love  a nice button up.

+ These cropped matchstick jeans from J Crew are a summer staple of mine.  They just scream summer barbeque to me…just make sure you don’t drop any sauce on them 🙂

+ Who wouldn’t love a pair of espadrilles…and with the wedge you don’t have to worry about getting stuck in the grass.

+ To make this the perfect stars + stripes outfit pair it with some stacked gold bracelets (via Etsy)
and a super cute Milly embossed snake clutch.

summa reading

Since I am back to being a working woman (and mama) today…
I thought I would leave you all with my summer reading list.  I have already read Kite Runner, so it is not on the list (but it is a must read).
Fifty Shades Trilogy (the writing was horrible but I wanted to know what everyone was talking about)
The Lucky One (I was told that this book was not that great so I may start with one of Nicholas Spark’s earlier books)
last but definitely not least…
What is on your summer reading list?
I would love to add a few more to my list!!!

little Ellison things…

We started giving Ellison one bottle a day a week ago to get him use to it since I am returning to work on Thursday (I am throwing myself a pity party on Wednesday).  Well Mr. Ellison decided that he liked taking a bottle better than nursing during the day, so we have switched to all bottles during the day and nursing at night.  It has worked pretty good the last couple of days.  He is eating about 4 oz every 3 hours during the day, and nursing after bath time (around 9:30 PM), once during the night (around 3:30-4:00), and around 6AM.
He likes to help feed himself the bottles as you can see 🙂

He has a new napping friend.  He loves to hold pup pup and lick his face.  He will eventually drift off to sleep still holding on to the pup pup.  It is the sweetest thing.  I think that this maybe his sleeping partner for a while 🙂

With Ellison weighing in at 14.5 pounds at 2.5 months old it was time to retire the 3 month wardrobe.  He is wearing 3-6 month, 6 month, and even some 9 month duds now.

I finally got his birth stats framed.  I ordered it from Jessica; she was so easy to work with and really FAST.  I would recommend her shop to anyone!

I am going to REALLY miss Ellison napping on me when I return to work on Thursday.  I know going back to work is going to be hard (really hard).  My mama told me that it does get easier though!
Mr Mr is able to hold his head up for longer and longer periods of time now.  I know it wont be long before he can do it all the time and the wobble head will be a distant memory.
