Top Two Tuesday

It is “Top Two Tuesday” over at Taylor’s blog “The Undomestic Momma“.  Today is top two favorite songs.  This one was very hard for me to chose JUST two.

1.”Imagine” by John Lennon
This is my all time  favorite song.  I love the message of the song and I try to live my life by the quote that John Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono, said that this song ment, “that we are all one country, one world, one people”.  I just love that concept and the song!!!!

2. “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross
I love this song so much because I knew since I was young that I wanted this song to be my first dance song.  It was and so it will always hold a special place in my heart and every time I hear it I will think about our first dance together! 🙂

Can’t wait to see what everyone else chooses as their favorite songs!!!!  This one was so much FUN!

Have a great day!

Weekend Recap…

Friday- I have most Fridays off and this one was no exception.  I really do enjoy working 4-10 hour days instead of 5- 8 hour days.  I went to the tire place to get one of my tires checked out because I spotted a piece of metal protruding out on Thursday evening.  To my surprise the metal had not penetrated through the tire and the tire guy just pulled it out and sent me on my way. YAY!!!  I asked the tire guy what the metal was and he said it was a piece of a shaving razor…GROSS!!!!!  I am glad that I did not touch it!  That evening we went to a Wilson High’s football game.  Wilson is where Andre works and coach the Varsity Boys Basketball team.  They guys played well but lost in the last few minutes of the game.  I think is sucks really bad when you are leading the entire game and lose in the last few minutes…such a heartbreaker.  The Wilson Tigers take on the Myrtle Beach Seahawks (Andre’s last school…and one that I loved so much) next Thursday.  I secretly wish we were still at the beach because I loved the people there and many of the coaches wives were really good friends of mine.  I can not really say that about the coaches wives at Wilson because I have not really met any.  I know that is a selfish reason, but what can I say a girl likes friends!

Saturday- I was awaken Saturday morning by Tucker falling/jumping out of the bed having a seizure.  It really bothers me to see him suffer like that.  He does not understand what it happening to him and it is just a very sad sight.  He has only been on his new dose of meds for about a week so I am hoping that this new dose will dramatically reduce the quantity and severity of his seizures!  Then I told Andre that I would watch a movie of his choice that afternoon.  This is one of my goals on my 101 in 1001 list.  Honestly I have not seen many of the classic movies that everyone else has seen so this is my attempt to become more cultured in the movie world.  He chose “Goodfellas”…

I enjoyed the movie and I am glad that he chose this one for September.  It is on the top 100 movies of all times so if you have not seen it then I would recommend it.  By the time the movie was over it was time for me to grocery shop and cook dinner.  We cooked grilled shrimp, onion rings, roasted brussel sprouts, and roasted butternut squash.  It was a good dinner.  Then it was football for the rest of the night!
Sunday-  I started out day off with a wonderful run with Tillman.  He was a champ.  We ran 5 miles and he did not try to stop at all.  I was very proud of him…in college he refused to run with me so this is such a positive change for him.  He was very worn out  but I told him that it is good for him and he even can have a little extra for dinner tonight.  I am going to wash some clothes and do some cleaning this afternoon.  I also have to pack my bag for Clemson today.  I have a certification class there this coming week, so I have to leave my husband for a week :(.  I am going to cook Sausage, Pepper, and Onions tonight (one of our favorites).  YUM!  I will post the recipe to my cooking blog some time this coming week!
I hope that everyone has had a great weekend!

101 in 1001: 6. Read a Book a Month; 98. get Andre’s car fixed

I have completed one of my items on my 101 in 1001 list.  I complete # 98. to get Andre’s car fixed or get a new car.  We took his car to the Ford dealership and they told us what was wrong with it.  We had decided that if it was over a certain amount of money that we would not get it fixed and look for a new car.  The repairs were less than that amount so we decided to fix his car and save our money so we can buy a new car with cash instead of paying payments.  I really do not like debt (I know a home mortgage is inevitable) so if we can I would rather save and then buy the next car for us!  YAY for having one item scratched off the list!

I also started on another item…#6. read a book a month.  My book for the month of September was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

I am rereading the HP Series and they are better the second go around. My next book will be one of the following.  Either the next HP or The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  I am going to read both of them but have not decided which one yet.  I will probably finish up the HP series then go the the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy.

What are you reading right now????  I need some suggestions on some good books!!!!!

Show Us Your Life- Master Bedroom

It’s “Show Us Your Life” over at Kelly’s Korner go check it out!!!

I do really love our master bedroom.  We still need to purchase some of the bedding accessories that we did not receive as wedding gifts, but we will get to it eventually.  We painted the walls and ceiling about a month ago and are loving the new color.  The curtains really tie everything together.  I am so glad that it is finally starting to look like something!

SO on with the tour…

This is the view from the closet.  The bedding is from potter barn and so are the curtains.  My parents bought the furniture for us right before we got married.  I had a queen size bed but knew that 2 people and 2 dogs were not going to be able to fit into a queen.  Especially because my two fur-children love to hog the bed!  I think that all the furniture came from local furniture store that was going out of business.  It was such a great find my my parents!
This the view from the bathroom.  I love our new dark furniture and bedding.  I think that it goes well together.
View from window looking back into the kitchen.

That door goes to the bathroom.
The view from the kitchen walking in…one of our engagement pictures that we had on display at the wedding!
Andre’s side of the  bed

The picture that is at the head of our bed…I just love this bridal picture

Small sitting area were we can put on our shoes in the morning or read
My side of the bed
Another bridal portrait.

The armoire and coat rack

I hope you all enjoyed the tour!  Go check out my 101 in 1001 list that I just posted 2 days ago and tell me what you think.

Top Two Tuesday

It’s Top Two Tuesday over at Tay’s blog!  Today is Top Two Hair Products!  I do love some hair product because it is humid and hot here and my hair is frizzy and very curly.

{1} Keratin-  I got a Keratin treatment on my hair before our wedding and it is the best.  I can actually wear my hair straight with it raining outside and there is absolutely NO frizz!  I use the product below every time I straighten my hair.  It is used when your Keratin treatment is wearing off a little.  I love being able to wear my hair straight in the summer…I have never been able to do that before this summer!

{2} Kenra Curl Defining Cream- this is my favorite product to use when I decide to go curly for the day.  My hair is not super thick so it gives my curls  control without weighing them down.   I have tried so many curl products over the years and this is the BEST I have found thus far!  I would probably cry if I found out that they were discontinuing this product…
I hope you have a great Tuesday.

miscellany monday…

Its Monday again!!!!  That means it is Miscellany Monday over at Carissa’s blog.

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

(1)
I am now taking Biotin because my nails have always been so brittle.  I hope that it works and I can finally have nails that look like girl nails!  I feel like one of my horses when I take it because we would always give it to them for their feet!

(2)
September is almost over.  It does not feel like fall here yet, but I know it is just around the corner.  I can not wait to go for my runs with out being soaked only 1 mile in!

(3)
I am so excited about Biggest Loser, Dancing with the Star (I do not think it will be as good this year…I may end up not watching it), Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, and the Office starting this coming week!  Tivo get ready you are about to have a serious workout!

(4)
I am rereading the Harry Potter series and I think I may be loving them more the second time!  I am currently on  the Third Book: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban!  It is so funny to reread and know how everything is going to turn out in the end.

(5)
I am either cooking chicken white bean chili with cheddar scallion bread or chicken tetrazzini tonight!

(6)
This is the last week of fall Basketball practice!  Yay for having my husband home when I get  off work!

(7)
I really wish it would rain!  I do not think it has here in over a month and a half.  Our grass and flowers really need some RAIN!

(8)
I have FINALLY finished my 101 in 1001 list, but I am not sure whether I should post now or wait until the first of the month…

(9)
I found out I am as ESTJ (from the Myers Briggs test)…which means I am a fact minded organizer; assertive; analytical, systematic; push to get things done; work smoothly and effectively.  Having extraverted thinking as my strongest mental process, and I am at my best when I can take charge and set things in logical order…WOW…that is pretty much me in  a few sentences!  HAHA

(10)
Last but not least, I got my wedding dress back from the preservation place this weekend!  It is very clean and all sealed up in a box to never be worn again!  🙂

Well, Well, Well…I had a long list today.  Thank for sticking with me through it all :)!

Have a great Monday!
